Free tool, as-is
GPS Speedometer is a free browser tool offered as-is, without warranty of any kind. We aim for a clean, honest readout, but accuracy depends on your device, browser, environment (open sky vs tunnel/urban canyon), and signal quality.
No warranty on measurement accuracy
GPS accuracy varies — open sky is typically within 1–3 km/h at steady speed; indoors, tunnels and dense cities degrade accuracy. The accuracy badge (± meters) and weak-signal warnings are shown so you can judge for yourself. Don't treat the number as survey-grade.
Not a safety-critical instrument
This is a helpful reference, not a certified or safety-critical instrument. Don't rely on it as a replacement for your vehicle's speedometer, a marine chartplotter, or any legally required instrument. Never hold your phone while driving, riding or boating — mount it or have a passenger operate it.
No account, no data collection
There's no account, no signup, and no collection of location trails. Location is processed locally and not stored. Anonymous pageviews are aggregated for site maintenance (see Privacy). No personal data is sold, and there's nothing to export or delete because nothing is retained.
Acceptable use
Use the tool lawfully and sensibly. Don't attempt to scrape, disrupt, or reverse-engineer in a way that harms availability.
Changes
We may update these terms to reflect tool or legal changes. The Last updated date will change when we do.
