This use-case page exists because “train speed test” gets real traffic (tens of thousands monthly in India per brief) and competitor zpeed.in ranks with it. Same live speedometer, framed for rail: note accuracy limits inside metal coaches, tunnels and urban canyons. Open water = good signal; underground = weak or lost.

Accuracy on a train
GPS works through windows, not through tunnels or deep cuttings. At 200 km/h the app smooths the last 3–4 fixes so the number doesn’t jump. Check the ±m badge: ≤15m is good, 16–50m weak.

Start before departure to capture average and max. Keep screen awake with the toggle so you don’t miss the top speed in a sprint section.

Does GPS speed work inside a train?
Yes, but only with a view of the sky — near a window works, deep inside a metal carriage or tunnel blocks the signal and shows Searching.
Why does my speed reading jump around on a train?
Tunnels and metal shielding cause brief loss. The app smooths the last few fixes and shows Searching instead of a fake number, then resumes after the tunnel.
